Classic Bundt Pound Cake is one of the most popular of recent trending foods on earth. It’s enjoyed by millions every day. It’s simple, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. They’re fine and they look fantastic. Classic Bundt Pound Cake is something that I’ve loved my entire life.

And the resulting cake was a four-pound cake. In addition, a classic pound cake often didn't use any leavening agent, like baking powder or baking soda. That is why a pound cake is denser than most other sponge or butter cakes. Sift flour and salt into a medium bowl and set aside.

Traditionally, pound cake is called that because the recipe takes a pound each of flour, butter, eggs, and sugar. This recipe hasn't strayed far from the classic, I've just added vanilla and a pinch of salt. Most pound cakes are baked in a loaf pan or a pound cake pan (a bundt cake mold) and are served with powdered sugar or a glaze.

Steps to make Classic Bundt Pound Cake:
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and dust an 8" bundt pan and set aside
  2. Sift together twice the flour, soda, and baking powder to ensure full incorporation. Set aside
  3. Cream sugar and margarine until light, fluffy, and doubled
  4. To the creamed mixture, add the eggs (one at a time). Make sure each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Do not add the next egg if the mixture still looks cuddled/split
  5. Stir n your flavouring
  6. Add the flour alternating with the milk to the creamed mixture. Do this in atleast 4 additions and do not overmix. Always start and end with the flour for a much stable cake batter
  7. Pour batter into your prepared pan and bake for 45minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
  8. Enjoy!
