The ingredients needed to make Cottage pie pie:
  1. Make ready Round of pastry
  2. Get 250 g mince
  3. Take 2-3 large potatoes
  4. Get Chopped onion, carrots and celery
  5. Take Handful frozen peas
  6. Prepare cube Stock
  7. Take Small tin of tomatoes
  8. Take to taste Salt and pepper
  9. Make ready Knob butter
  10. Prepare Egg to glaze
Instructions to make Cottage pie pie:
  1. Fry carrots, onion and celery in a pan in a little oil. Peel and chop potatoes. Bring to the boil in a pot of salted water
  2. Add mince and brown
  3. Add tin of chopped tomatoes. Stir and cook for a few minutes
  4. Add stock cube, a little water and frozen peas. Simmer on low for about 20 - 25 mins. Turn on the oven to 200 towards the end
  5. Roll out pastry into a round tray. Prick with a fork. Add mince and spread around. Drain potatoes when cooked and mash with some butter
  6. Add mash on top of mince
  7. Turn the edges down. Run a fork across the mince to decorate. Add a few little knobs of butter on top. Glaze pastry with beaten egg
  8. Bake for about 20-25 mins. Leave on a wire rack for 10 mins before serving :)
